Directions in the context of civil litigation is the timetable set by the court for the conduct of the case. The court will give either standard or special directions and directions will differ dependent on which track the case is allocated to. In more complex and higher value claims, which are allocated to the Multi-Track, then the directions are likely to be more detailed and onerous. In lower value and more straightforward claims, then the directions are likely to be more standardised, running to trial much more quickly.
