About Katherine Swinn
Katherine is Head of General Litigation.
She joined Truth Legal in December 2018 as a Consultant Solicitor, became a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Litigation and Employment departments in November 2020 and then Head of General Litigation in June 2023.
With over 13 years experience as a litigation specialist, Katherine deals with a wide variety of area of disputes and/or areas of law, which include professional negligence, data breach claims, contractual disputes, consumer matters and debt recovery.
Katherine assists and supports individuals and businesses both locally and further afield.
Professional negligence is a particular area of expertise and enjoyment for Katherine who has successfully dealt with claims against solicitors involving employment, personal injury and immigration, and also a claim against a surveyor relating to a HomeBuyer’s Report.
Katherine also deals with professional negligence claims against unions who have not supported their members usually in respect of employment law matters.
She is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association
Katherine is an experienced advocate in attending County Court hearings.
She has experience of dealing with a range of employment law issues including Settlement Agreements, discrimination and unfair dismissal.
In February 2023, it was reported that Katherine had obtained a “landmark settlement” for a disabled Harrogate man against a national gym chain. This is a particular highlight for her.
