Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS). CAFCASS represents children in Family Court cases in England. They independently advise the Family Courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests. They put their needs, wishes and feelings first, making sure that children’s voices are heard at the heart of the Family Court setting.

CAFCASS will prepare a Safeguarding Letter (short report) before the initial Court hearing which is known as First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointment (FHDRA) outlining the issues in the case and providing advice to the Court. They may be later asked to prepare additional report(s) throughout the duration of the case.
