I am writing to you as I wish to make an official complaint because of the problems I have suffered recently in trying to arrange an appointment with Dr Watson.
Dr Watson is our family GP and I have been seeing him for a number of years.
I phoned the surgery on the 6th June 2017 and the receptionist made an appointment with Dr Watson for the 9th June 2017. However, when I arrived, the receptionist informed me that she had no record of the appointment on her computer.
Whilst I was there, I made another appointment for the 12th June 2017. I arrived for this, but the receptionist informed me that Dr Watson had just been called away on an emergency and that there was no one else who could see me as the other doctors were booked up.
We then arranged another appointment for the next day. I informed the receptionist that I really needed to see Dr Watson and was unable to take any more time off work. She assured me that I was booked in to see him at 8:30am.
However, when I turned up for the appointment on the 13th June 2017, the receptionist told me that Dr Watson was running late. I asked her how long I would have to wait as I needed to be at work for 9:45am. She replied that she didn’t know. I waited for an over an hour, but was unable to wait any longer because I had to get to work.
I haven’t tried to arrange another appointment because I’m so upset and annoyed, and feel disappointed that the surgery has let me down. The situation is extremely stressful for me. I really do need to see a doctor. I have already had to take quite a bit of time off work, which has resulted in me losing money.
