At Truth Legal we pride ourselves on playing a central role in helping people with their everyday legal problems. As a result of this we are delighted to have made a £500 donation to the Harrogate Citizen’s Advice, in many ways an organisation with a similar ethos and motivation to ourselves; to help people in the local area and provide areas of support.
Truth Legal is a national law firm with a presence in York, London and Manchester, but our head office in Harrogate has helped establish us as one of the leading solicitors in North Yorkshire. We have built our reputation on strong customer service values and this is where our work ties in with that of the Citizen’s Advice, and why we felt our donation was appropriate.
Our customer-focused approach involves offering advice and support that is friendly, sympathetic, diligent and experienced. A lot of the time our support can be emotional as well as offering our legal expertise, and it is this common ground that led us to donate to Harrogate Citizen’s Advice to assist with the development of their services. National financial cuts have greatly impacted on the work of Harrogate’s Citizen’s Advice. It was against this backdrop that we made this donation.
Sharing resources with the Citizens Advice
Where we receive housing and benefits law enquiries, we request that people contact Harrogate Citizen’s Advice office. Our donation was given to help Citizen’s Advice provide translation or interpreting help so that their resources can be accessed by those whose first language isn’t English.
This is not the first time we have partnered with the Citizen’s Advice office in Harrogate. We recently attended a charity cake sale at their offices, while Citizen’s Advice was one of the organisations – along with the Access To Justice Foundation – who organised the Great Legal Bake Off in February.
Trusted and reliable solicitors
The Harrogate Citizen’s Advice office provides free, confidential and independent advice on the big issues affecting people’s lives and they also take up cases and campaign on behalf of local people, where they feel an injustice has been carried out. In your hour of need, the Citizens Advice is often the first port of call and as a responsible ‘people’s solicitors’ we feel it is important to keep that resource going and hence we are delighted to offer our help with this donation.
