At the recent AGM of the Harrogate and District Law Society, the presidency passed from Kate Maybury of Raworths Solicitors to Andrew Gray of Truth Legal solicitors.

In her farewell speech, Kate Maybury reflected on what had been a very successful year as President.

Kate said:

“I would just like to say how much of an honour it has been to be the Harrogate and Law Society President in the 99th year of our existence and that I’m very pleased that Andrew Gray is taking on the role of President in its centenary year – he’s innately energetic, full of ideas and has already got some great plans for the year ahead.”

On becoming President, Andrew Gray set out his agenda for the year ahead, which included highlighting to local people and the wider region the high calibre of the legal professionals in the area, as well as strengthening relationships with the excellent Citizens Advice Bureau.

Commenting on his predecessor, Andrew Gray said:

“Kate is an impossible act to follow. She has brought dynamism, energy and stature to the role. Without doubt, Kate’s year has been hugely successful. We all owe Kate a debt of gratitude.”

Andrew Gray founded Truth Legal solicitors in Harrogate in 2012 and is an experienced personal injury, clinical negligence and employment law solicitor. The firm has since expanded to York, Manchester and London.
