£100,000 compensation awarded to roofer after fall from height on construction site

Gary*, a self employed roofer suffered a serious, injury at work, when he fell some distance to the ground as a result of inadequate scaffolding being provided on a construction site.

Gary required surgery for a fractured ankle followed by months of rehabilitation.

Following the accident, Gary contacted Truth Legal, and Helen Beaumont, Specialist Personal Injury Solicitor, arranged a home visit.

Helen gathered the evidence in relation to the circumstance of the accident.  She obtained medical opinion in relation to the injuries suffered and evidence in support of financial losses.  Gary’s injuries were so serious that he developed post traumatic arthritis, causing restrictions in his ability to work.

With Helen’s help, Gary was able to receive compensation for the pain, suffering and loss of amenity caused by his injuries.  In addition, he received loss of earnings, and care and assistance required.   Compensation was also recovered for future anticipated losses, including continuing loss of earnings and further surgery.
