But you are also just a short journey away from the sprawling glory of RHS Harlow Carr and the site of the Great Yorkshire Show, with cafés, delis, food halls and event spaces brimming with local pride and wholesome enterprise.
Harrogate offers a wide variety of fine dining experiences with hidden gems around every corner and well-known chain restaurants for a more familiar flavour. Being on the cusp of the North Yorkshire Moors, the great outdoors are right there to be exploited with Brimham Rocks – the ‘hidden’ natural rock formation which offers a mass of adventure for the kids – and you are just a short drive from Coldstones Cut at Pateley Bridge; Yorkshire’s biggest and newest public artwork and which affords stunning views over the Nidderdale Valley. You are also within easy distance of the very best of Yorkshire’s rich heritage in places such as Skipton, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey and Wetherby.
Harrogate is a friendly and cultured spa town famous for its Georgian architecture and a busy conference and events industry. It was recently voted the Happiest Place to Live in Britain, and with a 75,000 population, beautiful gardens and well-appointed streets, that happiness radiates from its residents to the many tourists that visit.
